March 2019: A Fangirl Happy Hour

The Fangirl Social Club has been something Elsie and I have been thinking about for over a year now, so the fact that this day had finally come, our first event, was kind of surreal. We wanted to start the club off very light and easy with a simple happy hour at a solid restaurant nearby. We had a great time getting to know everyone and had some fun (and at times, heated) conversations about some of our favorite TV shows at the moment. It was wonderful to discover what we didn’t know we had in common and vice versa. We even got a little personal and picked which character we were most like on Parks + Rec (I’m a Leslie + Ron hybrid). Plus, those frosés were to die for.

Each of the girls received a small swag bag with a feminist pin, and amazingly enough, each one fit the individual’s personality to a T! It was a great group of girls and we can’t wait to welcome more and more of you to the fold as we continue to have more events. Geeky South Florida ladies: lets fangirl together!

I put total trust in our waiter for our group shot + realized in hindsight that it wasn’t the best idea.

Special thanks to Pisco Y Nazca for hosting us and dealing with all our orders + separate checks with a smile on your faces!

April’s event will be announced soon so keep an eye out and we hope to see you there!
